Can any one tell my why it is when i get a pay pal express payment now that the email payment confirmation i recieve is pay pal payment pending????

but yet when i log into my pay pal account the payment is not pending but is confirmed.

This is a bit of a pain in the butt to have to log into pay pal to check if the payment is confirmed or pending everytime you get an order as it gets quite time consuming.

Would like to know if this is only a tempory glitch or if not if there is a way to configure so it comes through as payment confirmed again.

When someone pays using their paypal account, sometimes they wont have enough funding in their paypal account to complete the transaction immediatly. PayPal needs to get money from the customers bank account - This takes time to clear and when this occurs the payment remains in a pending state.

I would reccommend you switch to PayPal Express Checkout - This method will give you better feedback as to the status of the order.

as per the first post you will see this was an issue relating to pay pal express but this problem has since corrected its self. It seems it was a tempory glitch.

Ah yes..

You will still get pending payments when the customer needs to source funding from there bank account. It takes a few days.

yes i know.
the problem was paypal was sending me payment pending emails even for the ones that were instant. but all fixed now....

Although now we are on the topic it would be handy if ezimerchant could recognise the difference between a pending sale and an instant sale.

in the downloaded orders regardless it says method: PayPal Express Checkout
and we then have to look at our emails aswell then to see if it is pending or instant.... I can live with this but a little bit of a pain at times. probably more so for the companies that take hundreds of orders a day.

I guess if it was possible to distinguish in the order process it would be beneficial to have somthing like method: Paypal express checkout: payment pending - check your paypal account for more info.

Hi

There are basically two different types of PayPal payment.

1. Instant
2. Pending (they call it echeck)

Due to your request, we have updated the GTS server so that ezimerchant will now tell you what type of transaction it is.

Example of Instant:

Any future PayPal Express Checkout orders will contain this extra information.
