Ok so as my online business in export sales is increasing I am getting more and more requests to ship fishing rods overseas. Problem is they are too large for Australia posts ECI Limit of 105cm.
I have looked at places such as DHL & UPS calculators and they say that for me to send a item say 150cm would cost a few hundred dollars.
Currently I have do decline any bulk size sales like this for export but would love to capture this market if It was possible to find a carrier that would be reasonable in price to send such items.
Is there any other fellow ezi merchant useres out there that deal with alot of overseas sales that could recommend a carrier that might be suitable that is not going to cost the earth???

Hi Ocean Tackle
I have just looked up a couple of different International couriers.
Take a look at their websites, I do not know if it will help you, though having a look surely wouldn't hurt.
Here is a list of the sites and links to their international couriers pages that I have found:
Yellow Express: http://www.yellowexpress.com.au/international-couriers.asp
Express Logistics: http://www.xprs.com.au/default.asp?action=services.intcourier
Knobs & Knockers: http://www.knobsknockers.com/delivery_charges.htm
TNT: http://www.tnt.com/country/en_au.html
Royale International Couriers Inc.: http://www.royalecourier.com/indexmx.html
I have only ever used TNT, and that has been domestically.
Most of these site you will have to contact in regards to International Delivery Charges.
Hope it helps you out.
Cheers

Ocean Tackle,
How are you going with finding a competitive International Courier?
Toll Priority [nationwide] have just acquired SkyNet and therefore expanded their global presence. Their pricing is very good if you're interested I can probably help you out with a quote?
The reason the cost for sending your rods is so high, is probably because of the cubic weight. I'm not sure what the other dimensions are of your rod, but if you say 150cm? Toll cubes international freight at 167kg.
So calculate the dimensions of your parcel:
Length x Width x Height = [then divide by 6000]
Eg: 150cm x 20cm x 20xm = [divide by 6000] = 10kg.
[they charge whatever is higher - either the cubic weight or dead weight]. So even if the rod only weighs 4kg, you'd still be charged for 10kg - just the way it works!]
Toll Priority can offer you some great pricing, but need to know your overall total spend [as we customise pricing.] Obviously the more you send, the cheaper your prices will be. And if you consolidate your domestic freight as well, we can do an even better deal!
Let me know if I can help. [and that goes for anyone! Particularly those based in Sydney in the CBD/City area & surrounds].
Msg me
Cheers,
Hanna.
