Just noticed that MSN has changed their algorithm.
I had all #1 rankings for my major keywords and have now slipped some of them to not even in the top 10 and instead a few of the crappy websites that once didnt even have a top 20 ranking now show up on the top 10

Any one else find this also for their keywords?

also found that my home page in some results was listed as www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/?OID=aushopfish

Does any one know what this is as I dont even have a page name with that extention in it. (it should show up as just www.fishingtackleshop.com.au or www.fishingtackleshop.com.au/index.htm shouldnt it?

My site has also disappeared from their rankings. And the MSN Bot does not seem to visit anymore. I still rank well with everyone else except Google, which is another story.

Robby I suggest you put a heap of keywords into your home page as a starter. Also, have you been "adding url" in google? Any time you create a new product do an addurl

Hi

I emailed MSN and they have given me the following reply:
".... Occasionally, a website may disappear from search results as we change our website-ranking algorithms. In some cases, search results may change considerably as we test new algorithms. If the placement of your web site changes you should check back in two weeks. It can take a couple of weeks for changes to stabilize...."

Also I checked my rankings in Google for my keywords and I am back up on the 1st page again. So it looks like patience is the key.

I find they change often but patience is the key to it all I think.

You do have to be patient yes. but you also cant sit and do nothing. If rankings slip with algorithm changes like mine did slighlty in MSN Live when they changed their algorithm recently you need to look at your site and see what can be tweeked for better rankings. I am pretty sure from a little research I did on an seo forum that MSN Live now place a little more relavancy on link popularity and link quality now also than what they had in the past.

I think this update is really suck, not because of my website dropped, but the result pages show a lot of SPAM website. For example, if you type the keyword "PP container" in the search.msn.com, you will find some SPAM website with the title "PP" rank on top 20. When you click the links, a lots of pop-ups show and may cause "hang" to your browsers.

Hope Microsoft really can do something to improve it
