Hi Dave
We have updated our computer systems which run on Vista and need to re install Ezimerchant to a much more proficient computer. I have installed the disk and and the updates for the new one but now will have to transfer all data to new computer. Will this affect the download orders at all? Any problems that may occurr that I should know about?
Thanks
Kas

There are 3 steps required for transferring your data from one computer to another.
1) Backup your store data on the existing computer, copy it to the new one and use the restore feature of ezimerchant. That will add it to the site list on the new computer and retain all of your registration information.
2) Copy all of your images from the old computer to the new, keeping them in the same directory structure.
3) Copy your custom template (if any) from the C:\Program Files\ezimercpro\Themes directory on the old computer to the same directory on the new one.

One other thing that I forgot to do...
On the new computer, after you've installed the ezimerchant program, make sure you update it to the newest version if you've been doing that on the existing computer, otherwise your new computer won't recognise the ezimerchant file when you try to restore.
Hope that helps too,

Hi
I have upgraded our computer system and have managed to transfer everything to the new system OK (athough having fun with Vista  )
I have noticed most of the images are missing. I have kept the same directory structure... but on the old system the hard drive was F: and the new computer uses C: Is there any way I can change in the Products and Categories section to look in the C: drive instead of F: At the moment I have to go through product by product to change it.

OK thankyou, i did see that thread, I really am very very very un infomaed on running this software, I am not saying its difficult, just that I have a very hard time understandinghow to use it, to say I am having major problems trying to complete this task is an understatement....
Can anyone help me with total step by step how to for dummies directions without using any big words that i wont understand!
I apologise, I have been single handedly running a whole business doing eveything and I find it hard to teach myself new things constantly, this is one of those things that i havent had time to learn properly. Time is not something I have any of, hence now I am two years into my business and still cant run my website properly.
**Ok I have got it onto my second computer, so now i am attempting the image transfer! Fingers Crossed.

Hello,
Try adding the images you have into the folder
C:\Program Files\ezimercpro\WebSites\Online Store 1\HTML\images and see if that works.
I hope this helps!
