I would reccommend downloading and installing the trial and comparing for yourself.
OsCommerce is a fully featured database driven open source ecommerce solution - But its a LOT harder to setup and use than ezimerchant Pro.
It has some features that ezimerchant pro doesnt, but many of them you many never want or need or can live without.
ezimerchant Pro is extremly easy to setup and use - If your a novice when it comes to the web then you will probably find oscommerce to hard to use - and therefore, not an option.

Hi TIA
I use OScommerce, it is free, it is highly configurable, there are no ongoing costs, it is included in fantastico with an installer, or you can install it yourself with a minimal amount of database savy.
The learning curve is quite steep, for myself I would not use anything but OsCommerce. I am considering using EziMerchant or one of the many other similar Merchant/cart programs for some of my less technical customers sites.
However if you need to ask the difference between Ezimerchant vs OsCommerce I suggest you stick with Ezimerchant or similar out of the box solutions that are designed to get most SME's up running and working with a minmal of fuss.

From my experiences of TRYING to shop at oscommerce-based stores, I've found a lot of them to be rubbish. I'm not sure if this is because the builders of the sites didn't know what they were doing, or if the software just doesn't do the job right, but I'm sticking with ezimerchant.
