Everytime I publish my website, after making a change, it also uploads one of my pdf files into a directory public_html/files/files.
I always choose the option of only updating changed files. I do have a directory public_html/files but the system has created files/files. I have tried deleting it but it just keeps on doing it. I have not changed this pdf file for a few months and the website accesses it from public_html anyway.

Any ideas??

Check in your buildxxxx folder for the files folder.. In it, there should not be another files subfolder.. If there is, delete it.

Then generate your site and upload it. See if it comes back and then advise?

Yes it was there. I have done what you said and it worked.

I still don't understand why it had to keep uploading it with the only changed files settings. You would think it would do it once and that would be it.

Yes, it should have only been uploaded the once. I tested the upload feature by creating a subfolder called files (inside the files folder) and placing a PDF document in it.. ezimerchant only uploaded it once - Even after a site generation. I cannot offer an explination as to why it happened on your end other than maybe the PDF document somehow changed?
