Google Conversion Tracking - Available in ezimerchant Checkout

Google Adwords are great for getting customers to your site. But how many are buying as a result?

ezimerchant Professional now allows Merchants to add the all important Google Converstion Tracking code to the final page of checkout.

The basic steps are below: [edited and updated by Joachim Schiller 19/06/2008]

1. In your web browser, login to your adwords account and select CONVERSION TRACKING from the menu.

2. Click Create an action

3. Name your action. Set the type to "Purchase/Sale" and set the Revenue field to [eziGTS_Total] as shown.

4. Select the conversion page language (English (Australia), English UK or English US are fine) and set the security level. This MUST be https://

5. Choose the text format (one line or two - your choice) and then choose the background colour (to match the setting under Checkout Settings in ezimerchant)

6. Click Save Action & Get Code

7. You will now see the Google Conversion Code in a box on the screen. You should select all this code and 'Copy' it into the Windows clipboard memory (CTRL-C or Right Click Copy etc).

Now we need to put this code into ezimerchant, so open ezimerchant Professional...

10. In ezimerchant Professional click Checkout Completion Actions in the General Web SIte Settings section..

11. Click Add Action.

12. Select the Display Message action (1). Paste the code into the Message to Display section (2). Click OK (3).

13. Update the GTS

14. Now test your code!

Goto www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and search for a keyword you are bidding on and then click on your ad. Your website should now display. Perform a test purchase of a product.

On the order confirmation page you should see text similar to 'Google Site Stats send feedback' towards the bottom of the page.

Note: The Order Confirmation page is the page that displays after you have completed your order.

I recently put Google's conversion tracking on Fobile websites. After a few days of data, results don't match what I have for sales from my internal tracking?

How are you able to track (internally) sales that came from Google Adwords? They are the only ones who can really track it reliably.
