As we all know, the number and quality of links to a site has a strong bearing on Google Page Rank.

I wonder if there are other Ezimerchant Pro sites who would like to exchange reciprocal links with my site www.byronshop.com.au.

If so go to http://www.byronshop.com.au/webcontent23.htm or send me an email: paul@byronshop.com.au.

Perhaps Ezimechant could develop a list of sites interested in reciprocal links to post on these forums.

With the new HILLTOP algo reciprocal links are not as useful as they used to be... You need links from 'expert' directory sites - Look for directories in your field and try to get listed in them.

Hi,

Another thing you could do bombard message boards/discussion forums with self promotion - even if under guise. I have done exactly that over the past few days ie posted messages on music/clubbing/dj sites relevant to my business - I'm a user of these boards anyway.

My hits have trebled in last than 48 hours.

Also, Ezimerchant is designed really well in terms of how it places the keywords within every page it creates... I have found that I am ranked higher than a major competitor whom has been around years within Google, and my site has only been live since the beginning of last week.. Googlebot has so far hit my site 89 times in the past two weeks alone.. I've not even submiited either, that's purely a spider crawl.

David,
I am not quite sure what you mean by "expert directory sites" and where I go to find them.
Cheers,
Mark

Directory sites are sites on a particular subject that link to many other sites on the same subject. Example... There may be a site dedicated to linking to other sites that have to do with 'Digital Cameras'

I'm "just starting out"...( only just loaded in software today)So it's all "new" to me.
Aim to build 3 probably 4 web sites....2 x2 sets.
Each pair with related subject matter & links...will provide links to others...(it's a numbers & profile marketting game it seems). The "other pair"...complementary to each other in terms of subject matter ...but not to the "first pair"...if you get my "drift"....).
Think your idea is a great one ...! Would be happy to participate...once my web sites are up...may take me a" a little time"...it's a "crazy time of year to.
Also it's somthing else "ezimerchant" could promote on the web site > by way of help to members at ....no cost to them ( always a benefit).

Cheers Allan ....:-).Merry Xmas etc etc....

mm... reciprocal links count - yes - but quality links are better - be careful not to flood your site with too many links. It will water down the relevance of your site.

expert directories are also called major & reputable directories, example of this is dmoz and yahoo..it would be a big help on your rankings if your site is listed on these 2 directories..
