I am really sorry if these questions are obvious to experienced users but I need clarrification.

1. Payments. Now I am just near the end of a trial version. EZImerchant wants my credit card details for a payment of $30 a month or something. If say i sign up[ with 'paypal" - am I still paying ezimerchant the $30 a month as well as the fees to paypal. What exactly is the $30 a month for.

2. I am with the NAB. They have a secure payment gateway, which I know i cant use with EZImerchant. What are the advanatges of paying my $500 for ezimerchant, then the ongoing fees to the secure payment gateway. On the surface, it would looks a lot better value to just use any old program to set up my shopping cart, then use the NAB's ( or ANZ or Commonwealth) secure payment gateway. I really need somweone to explain to me how I can justify spending $500 on ezimerchant when, with my really limited knowledge, it looks like i can do the same for just about free??

3. If i do use ezimerchant..i make the website, then use on of their payment gateways. I could not find information on which one was best or best value.

thanks if anyone has time to answer.

Far out! Lots of questions there! - I reckon you should give them a call...

I'm pretty sure $30 a month is for the secure server.

Check out www.eway.com, they have recommendations about which banks to go with, St George is very good (the one I use), you can keep your NAB account and use a St George merchant facility.

Have a look at my site to see how you can use paypal without using the secure server. I don't get too many orders through paypal, but it's still handy...

Hi

1. All ezimerchant Pro users must have an account on our GTS server (currently $29.95 per month) - This is regardless of the payment method(s) you use. (i.e manual, real time or other such as cod, money order, paypal, paymate etc.

2. The banks provide payment gateway solutions but not shopping cart or website building programs..

ezimerchant Pro make it easy to build and maintain your site AND to link into payment gateways all without programming.

3. Netregistry has a flat rate plan of $55.00 per month for their payment gateway service.

However.. is there a reason why you MUST do real time? Why not do manual transactions? (i.e with an eftpos terminal) you would save money due to not having to have a payment gateway account.

See http://www.ezimerchant.com/faq/show/faq50073.asp for more information on the difference between real time and manual transactions.
