You're telling me not only do I pay the $400 or whatever dollars for the god damn software, but I have to pay you a*****s $30 more dollars a month to have an account on your stupid a** GTS server that I dont even need? I just need the f*****g software, I dont need your stupid a** GTS account.
I want the software to create the site and Paypal will handle my credit card purchases. Please explain to me how your theft of $30 a month (along with the software purchase fee) is needed? Go to hell and f*****g fix this. How can I just buy the god damn software and screw your $30 a month fee? If I can't, then your company needs to go to hell!

See, even the Moderator doesn't have a good reason for why they CHAIN you to their GTS server. I will admit, I like your software. It's great, but you totally ruin it when you force us to rely on your GTS servers to work the site we create. This is the number one reason why I will not purchase it. I pay for the software, and it should be mine. I don't want to have to open an account with you so you can keep my credit card number on file. Thieving internet companies and slimmy porno sites do that. I shouldn't have to pay you a monthly fee to use your Global Transaction Server, which I don't even need. That is just LAME. It's an unneeded option ONLY added so you can steal an extra $30 a month from the people who buy. I'm pissed because this looks like a great software, but this little catch you throw in there ruins it all. I have my own web server, I have my own way of handling transactions, I don't need your stupid GTS server. If I could use your software without it, I'd buy right away. But instead it's being uninstalled and going straight into the trash. Looks like your greed will continue to cost you, because I'm not the only customer who is turned away by this. Real good marketing.

And as for you bcarroll, some people like yourself just shouldn't open their mouths. Nuff said.

Our software is designed for small businesses who want a total out of the box solution.

Our software is designed not only to build the website/product catalogue but to also take credut card orders with SSL security and interface with payment gateways to make it easy for small businesses to get started on the internet.

If you dont require a complete solution - Please do not buy our software.

I noticed that you mention PayPal as your payment processor - We have only recently added paypal support to our GTS server and it was only done for the convenience of our customers who also sell on ebay or who want to process in USD. Most of our customers process their credit cards for real. They dont use PayPal. They are real businesses with real merchant accounts. Therefore they NEED our GTS server to collect and pass on secure customer orders.

Our software is designed primarily to take credit card orders where the merchant (owner of the site) processes the card number on their eftpos terminal OR in real time via a payment gateway. Its not primarily designed as a stand alone shopping cart solution for paypal. If this is what your after then I can understand you not wanting to pay our GTS fee - BUT please understand that this is NOT what we aim offer.

There are other cart solutions out there that offer paypal support without ongoing fees.. Go and buy one of those.

[Edit: 8th Feb 2008 - ezimerchant is now the First Australian shopping cart solution to obtain PayPal certified solution status. We have fully integrated PayPal Express checkout into our GTS checkout making PayPal payments easy for customers and merchants.]

If you like our software so much then maybe its worth the $30.00 per month - Gees.. our phone support ALONE is worth more than that! What other shopping cart software provides free phone support?
We wish you the best of luck with your business - Hopefully you will treat your customers better than you have us.

I think member0603 repeated himself about 10 times there. Kinda loses it's effect after the first couple.

I do agree with the support aspect - well done ezimerchant. I have emailed a few questions which in retrospect seem obvious, more just oversights on my part, and have always received very prompt and patient support.

Well done.

Now ezimerchant - hurry up with the new version. I really need to be able to edit the product categories more easilly (not that good with HTML)l and add images next to the product categories. Had anumber of people emailing to ask how to buy.

I've also been looking for a shopping cart solution.

I think ezimerchant has a lot of good features.
However, one big drawback is the matter of paying 29.95 month for a GTS connection.
Yes, you do provide phone support but $30 a month hurts.
Why not listen to customers:
Give them the option of whether they want phone support, whether they want GTS (maybe charge more for the product to eliminate this requirement.
I wanted to buy the product also, but what if you turn around tomorrow and say the GTS fee has gone up to $ 39.95 !!.

The GTS whatever its called is really a fee for the ongoing use of the product. End of story

ezimerchant Professional is designed to make ecommerce easy and affordable for small businesses. In order to accomplish this we created the GTS server which takes care of security, the collection and storage of orders and many other tasks which make running an ecommerce site easier. Without the GTS ezimerchant Pro wouldnt be as easy to use as it is. For $29.95 per month it is great value - even if we didnt offer free support.

The GTS server is an integral part of the ezimerchant Package - They are not two seperate things. It cost us millions to develop and thousands per month to maintain. We simply must recoup those costs.

If you are in the market for an ecommerce solution that doesnt have ongoing fees then there are plenty of other ecommerce applications out there that dont require it. But if you like ezimerchant and what it has to offer then paying the fee's we ask should be a formality.
