Hi,

It's me again. I was just wondering what experience everyone has with people who order from you, elect to pay via direct deposit, and then never pay. What do you do? Do you chase them down? Let it go? Start abusing them? lol, j/k.

Seriously though, it's extremely frustrating and I just wanted to see what policies or practices you have implimented in these cases.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

I just remind them that they need to deposit before I send the goods. Believe it or not there are still people out there that expect the goods to arrive before they send the cash. If they don't respond I just cancel the order

Best regards

The advantage of only accepting credit cards is it makes capturing the 'impulse' customer easier.

If you accept Direct Deposit it gives the customer more time to think about the order and gives them a chance to bail out!

Even though there are some risks - ie 2x postage and not having the goods for 2 months - COD can be a middle ground between these. There is a higher cost to the customer (as in the more expensive Australia Post offerings and a $9 service fee on top) but it does help with impulse purchases.
