Search Form

Hi All,

I'm wanting to add a search form to our website header so there's a search field available on every page. I was able to copy the normal search page code, but not only is the form too big to place in the header, but the results page doesn't really suit as it has the original page content below the results.

How do I edit the search form?
How do I get the results to appear in the normal search results page?

Any suggestions or help would be much apprecaited.
