Customer Database - How to find if ordered before.

I have always meant to ask this question but never got around to it.

Is there any way to find out if a customer has ordered before. When a new order comes in, it automatically joins the "Customer List", so there is no way to see if they have ordered before.
As I write a quick persoanlized letter to each order, it would be nice to know if I have written before or not.

It would be great if Ezimerchant would show you previous orders of this customer.

IS there an easy way just to see if the customer has ordered before?

So the Ezimerchant custoemr database cannot be used to keep track of what customers have ordered int he past?

Then I would like to add this to a wishlist as surely it is the most important part of a customer database so that it can be personalized.
