Hey everyone,
I just noticed that when I modify my website and upload the new version, it doesn't delete any obselete pages from previous uploads. Am I supposed to manually go in and delete old pages via ftp or is there some systematic way of doing it?

I came across this issue recently when google had old pages listed in the top 5 listings. So, instead of deleting the old pages I just revamped them and made them current. Unless they are detrimental leave them, others just delete them using an FTP program. You can view the files by date thus easily locate the old files.

For me its more an issure that they are a duplication as I have revamped my categories and its just a couple of old categories that have been deleted. This is going to happen to me quite often as I grow my range of stock and it would be just nice to have them automaticly removed.

How do you revamp if the product has been deleted from EM? I have looked into the product id field in the database and it is a key field and linked to other tables, so don't want to go messing around there. I have a good ranking page prod130 but have to keep manually putting it into the eziinfo.js and eziproducts.js after each build . Is there an easier way? Or am I missing something? Basically I want to add the product id 130 back into the database, is this possible?
Have had a good go at this ... can anyone help?
David.

I have a constant problem with old pages. Customers search google and find our site then they cant order a product because it is 'old'.
2 solutions;
1. Always override pages with new products rather than delete the file you have made for them
2. Every month or whatever, I go up on the serve and delete the whole lot then upload a 'fresh' site with no dead pages - takes FTP about 30 minutes
[Ed by David: Make sure you also delete the contents of your buildxxxx folder or ezimerchant will simply upload all the unused files again]

There we go, not exactly an elegant solution, but for me at least solution 2. solves the problem. Thanks very much Winestar.
