Hey,

There are plenty of online software sellers, but how do they get established. You see places like City Software, they just seemed to appear and do really well. I have available to me through my wholesalers all the software they can sell but I focus on the digital media side of things. My pricing is WAY better than theirs, but how do you get noticed. How do I get my website seen by the greater audience to start to ordering happening and start really building upon the foundations of my site.

www.selectsolutions.com.au if anyone wants to have a peep.

Ideas, links, suggestions, tips, anything fire away.

Nice site Steven.

It looks great, however one small problem is the Google's not really able to tell what's going on (particularly on the home page) so it probably won't rank too well for related search terms (sorry).

My advice is a nice big Google adwords campaign. For example, make a google ad appear when someone types in "photoshop cs2" - of course do this for every single product you have.

Second, try establishing an affiliate campaign. I use Clixgalore. You only pay your affiliates when a sale is made... Good for traffic generation and branding too. You mentioned city software, I mention Amazon! Depending on who you talk to, Amazon poineered true global scale affiliation systems and have made squillions from the system by working with other websites (business partners really) to create huge amounts of targetted traffic and revenue shared sales.

Good luck! It's a haul, but worth it.

More and more sites based on this are developing day by day. So there is a great confusion for the consumer to choose the right product. Do any one have a solution for this ?

Just be sure if you use adwords watch the trends when the reports come through. What I have found is that some general words like "software" will definitely burn your pocket and are not really going to provide sales. It is best to target customers chasing specific products such as Paintshop Pro X or what ever. Maybe even just Paintshop in this case but never "software" or Microsoft" etc. I will try clixgalore after just reading somone else's post on it was positive. Another good one i have trialled and feel did something for me was ineedhits.com (Aussie Co.)

Hi selectg

Not a bad sit at all. (two thumbs up from me).

Just wanted to ask you a quick question about the Adobe CS3 Premium packages. I keep getting emails to my business addy saying that I can get the software for only $269.90 (US dollars I think). I have ignored them as the image of the software packaging looks dodgy and also they seems dodgy too.

Perhaps if you want to email me and I can email you a copy of the emails I receive.
