Distributor Password

I was wondering if anybody has a page or file in their website protected by a password. What I am trying to do is create a page that can only be accessed by my distributors via a password. My site has retails pricing on it so if I could create a password protected page my clients could retrieve pricing via an excel spreadsheet which I could update monthly.
Any ideas ?

You need to create a folder and setup a .htaccess file on it.
Speak to your webhost for the best way to do this - if your host has cpannel or plesk it will be an excedingly simple process.

For merchants that wish to sell to end customers and also to resellers of their products we reccommend the following.

As ezimerchant is not designed to sell products to different customers at different prices the only way to achieve this is to run two seperate ezimerchant sites side by side.

Example:

www.yourdomain.com (http://www.yourdomain.com) - as your retail site
www.yourdomain.com/wholesale (http://www.yourdomain.com/wholesale) - as your password protected site.

The advantages of this are:

Whoelsale prices are protected from retail clients
Sites are maintained seperatly, so you are in control of what products and prices appear on each siteThe disadvantages of this are:

Both sites need to be maintained seperatly - Takes more time
A license for ezimerchant will be required for the second site ($99.00)
Both sites require monthly GTS fees
Hosting fees may increase as disk space usage will doubleAs your hosting with myshophosting we can easily create a password protected folder on the webserver. You will just need to obtain a new license for ezimerchant and then build the wholesale site. We can help you with uploading it to the special folder and instruct you on how to add username/password combinations so your wholesale customers can get access.
