I am evaluating Ezimerchant Pro, along with a number of other e-commerce solutions. I would like to be able to create a site with category buttons, which then pop out further choices when the mouse hovers over them.
www.biogolf.co.uk - do this, if you hover over the 'accessories' section...and yes, apologies it was created using another company's e-commerce solution.

I just wanted to know if that was possible within Ezimerchant Pro, or would I need to get my Dreamweaver hat on (and text books out!) to do it?

Thanks!

Hi there

ezimerchant Pro only creates text based parent category navigation.

We do this for several reasons

1. Search Engines love it.
2. Its simple - ezimerchant Pro updates the category links whenever you add/remove/edit categories or products.
3. Text based navigation can be made to look good if quality CSS attributes are applied to it.
See www.fertilitysolutions.com.au or www.kawasakinorthside.com.au or www.jewelleryexpress.com.au as examples of ezimerchant sites with text based category navigation with good CSS applied.

You CAN if you like, remove the tag from the theme files which puts the text based navigation that ezimerchant creates onto the site and replace it with your own javascript/flash navigation.. But each time you update your categories you would manually need to update your navigiation menu structure or you will get broken links.
