Hopefully this will be my last question/post before putting my hand into my pocket and buying EziMerchant ;-)

I am looking at different available payment gateways. World Pay in particular looks great but is far too expensive.

So, we are looking now at NoChex and PayPal.

NoChex is only for UK based customers/card holders, while PayPal is obviously pretty much global.

Is it possible then, when customers are going through the checkout, to give them the option to pay by NoChex if they are based in the UK and only PayPal if they are outside the UK? Because of the limitation of NoChex we would need to differentiate, to avoid -for example - a US baed customer trying to pay by NoChex and then presumably getting some sort of ' card declined' message - which in turn could lose the potential sale.

Hi

ezimerchant Pro does not support NoChex.

Is there any reason why the manual payment method (credit card) not good? (you can process the cards on an existing terminal if you have one)

Basically, in an effort to keep costs down we've veered away from manual processing. We would prefer this approach, to ensure we only invoice goods that we are able to deliver.

We don't have an existing terminal and so are going to have to set up a merchant account with someone.

The costs that I have been quoted tend to be 4% - 5% of value, which is okay. The set up costs though seem to be around £300 + ongoing monthly 'account maintenance' costs which seem to be ~ £20 - £30.

As our sales volumes are likely to be low, to start with at least, this seems somewhat prohibitive. I mentioned NoChex as they are very well priced and have a good reputation for delivering an excellent service.

Perhaps I am looking in the wrong places, and you or other Forum helpers can suggest a suitable, and well priced, alternative.
