Is there any issues I need to know about, if I was to upgrade to a New PC, and transfer Ezimerchant and all the site information across to it?
Is it just a matter of installing it again, entering the licence code and copying across all the working files for the site? Or is there much more to it, as the settings and information need to be transferred also?
Has anyone done this before that can offer any advice.
Thanks!

From experience, unless you create your User login details (on XP) as they are now, the database file image links will be broken, and you will need to manually modify ALL the images, or using MS Access, modify the database file to refer to the new path to your images - hope that makes sense!

They will only be broken if you inserted your images from a location like mydocuments or desktop.
You really should put all your images into a folder that can easily be replicated on another PC.
example:
c:\websiteimages\
This is then easy to move to another PC.
IF you inserted your images from the MY DOCUMENTS folder it causes lots of problems because this folders location on the hard drive is different depending on OS version and the user account name on your PC. I WOULD NOT reccommend storing your website images in this folder or DESKTOP for same reason.

When you create a folder on the Desktop, the path to it will be something like:
c:\documents and settings\user_name\desktop\him_online_pix
So it will be a very long path to your images that is written to the database file. But it is still ok to do that.
What David suggested earlier is a much better solution (c:\images) - you could then have a shortcut to that directory sitting on your desktop for ease of access to your images.
And yes, everyone should have another hard-drive, preferably external, and backup, backup, backup. Maxtor offer the perfect solution - an external Hard Drive which comes with software enabling one-touch backup - these come in a variety of sizes - but they back everything up and restoring after a rebuild or crash is made much easier.
Plus the knowledge you have everything backed up is great for peace of mind.

Well, yes, and no.
If you need to rebuild your PC, and use your backed up files, you will need to ensure that the path to the images remains the same as it was originally.
If not, the links to those images will be "broken"; but with some simple editing (a find/replace) in MS Access on your store's database file, and the links can be fixed.
