View Full Version : Charging for items added as custom field (e.g. gift wrapping)

On my site, I want to add gift wrapping as a chargeable extra (£1.99 per item).
I have created a custom field for this, and I realise that Ezimechant isn't capable of charging extra when custom fields are 'checked', so could anyone recommend a way of doing this?

I have so far created an item called 'Gift Wrapping' which customers have to add to their cart - in addition to checking the box for this service. There must be a better way....

For example could I create a link within the item's detailed description that when followed allows the customer to add 'gift wrapping' rather than going to the main page again to manually add it?
I have also tried adding the 'Gift wrap' product on each page of the catalogue, as the last product on the page, but its a bit unsightly I think.

Can anyone suggest a tidier way of doing this?

Hi

You could link to either a category or a specific 'product' called 'Gift Wrapping' from the Brief and Detailed description of each prouct in your catalogue. Or you could put a single link to this in the top (header) or bottom (footer) of the View cart page.
