I currently use Ezimerchant on my home PC. From here I have done all the work, designing shop, adding images, etc.

When I am away from home, I have a laptop which I would like to use for monitoring orders and maintaining the shop.

What do I need to copy across from my main PC to the laptop to allow me to do this?
I have done the install of EziMerchant and can see the shared folder on my main PC via wireless network. I will obviously have to copy images, etc. over to the laptop and ensure they have the same Path.

What else do I need to do? Can anyone tell me the best way of doing this?

This is quite easy.. Simply back up your store using the back up feature, and then restore it onto the other PC.

THen all you need to do is make sure the other PC has all the resources it needs to be able to completly build the site.

For example:

* Access to small/large product images (in same folder that they were in on first PC.
* Any theme modifications would also need to be carried accross.

This is basically it.

Well I have the same problem when I keep my pictures in a folder on the desk top for easy access and when I take a back up copy home and also drop it on the desk top the program cant find the folder because of a different path due to a different user account.Where is the best place to store my photos? If I move the folder on my work computer will the program find them or will I have to do all the picture entries again once I move it ?

The images need to be in a consistent location on both computers. ezimerchant keeps a reference to where the images are. It won't find them if they are not where it expects them to be.

A good approach is to use a location such as C:\Website Images, which is a location that is possible to have on both computers.

Please see http://forums.ezimerchant.com/showthread.php?t=1066 for a utility that will help update ezimerchant's reference to the images after you have moved them.

An alternative approach that is working well for some customers is using remote access software from www.gotomypc.com to remotely manage the store from anywhere.
