Hey,
Just wondering what the concesus is - When someone places an order with me, i type the card number into the eftpos machin as a MOTO transaction. Then staple a copy of the EFTPOS prinout along with a copy of the receipt to the customer in their package.
Now the problem has arisen where the package was damaged during transit and the customer has said that his credit card number had been compromised (fair call) and he also was not happy about his IP being shown (Not Computer enough to work out why that would be a problem)
Is there any way in which a receipt may be printed that does not have the full credit card detail on it? Possibly with a 4560 1234 **** **** or something similar?
What do other merchants think?

I think if you use a black marker and manually delete some of the credit card numbers on the voucher. It will take more time but I think it's the only way not to compromise their credit card number from being fully shown.

I agree that would work, but was hoping that with the amount of orders we process (given we are online only we have a fair few) there could possibly be a more perm. solution.

Are you talking about the reciept that the EFTPOS terminal prints? If so, this will become a non issue as all banks are currently updating EFTPOS terminals to new models which only print partial card numbers on the EFTPOS reciepts.

No I mean on the Ezimerchant order sheet.
Like when an order comes through, I print out two copies, one for me, one for them (Theirs also has the EFT receipt stapled to it)
So really I am sending their details thru the mail

supply a proper tax invoice nstead of an ezimerchant order form

I agree with Adrian, the ezimerchant order should not (by ATO standards) be used as a tax invoice.
That said, I would love the functionality to add a business name and ABN so it can in fact do that

David, I thought I'd have a play. I just followed your directions above and can't get the page to work.
saved webpage as orderreport.htm, placed it in a new folder 'orderreport' in the commonfiles folder, rebooted the machine and all, but when i attempt to print, I got the option to use default or orderreport.htm, when using the latter, it simply wants to print the template only with all the template tags, rather than all the actual order detail.
Is there something I've done wrong or something else need to be done?
you said to edit it, however I assumed it would work as per default template. If we do edit from scratch, what do we need to do?

just had another play and instead of saving the page, I chose to 'edit with frontpage'.
Once fp was open, I saved to commonfiles folder and it works.
now I'll have a play with the file and see how I go

Hey David, have had a play around, just wondering - is it possible to make the orderreport the default and scrap the original default?

David
I just saw this while surfing from home
This sounds good and I will have a play when I get back to work.
I reckon a template adding a company logo and ABN and removing credit card details would be very popular.

Hi
No, the default built in order report is the default - we will change this in V4.0 so that you can have the choice :-)

Ok, I had a play with this, but am I missing something...
I saved the file as instructed and get the choice when I prompt to print, but the file looks exactly as it does in the template i.e. no customer details are in there.
Have I dont something worng or is supposed to be like that?

Its probably the way you saved it.. Please see above posts.
The file will generate an order report exactly the same as the default ezimerchant order report.. But its a file you can edit using a HTML editor like Front Page/Dreamweaver.

When I prompt ezi to print, mine looks exactly like this: http://download.ontech.com.au/ezimercpro/orderreport/orderreport.htm
that is, it does not have the customer or order details in there.

Ok, I worked it out.
You can't simply go to the link and 'save as' orderreport in the destination folder.
I got it to work by copying the source code in frontpage then saving it.
Now off to play!

I just use Excel, I have a standard template as a Tax Invoice and input details accordingly. I must be lucky as I have had a Bendigo Bank EFTPOS for two years now and theirs only shows an third of the CC number, thus no compromise. If this new template you guys/gals are using saves me having to use excel then life is merrier! I will have a play too, when I can find the time from selling selling selling! When will it ever stop!

In seconds I have done away with the credit card info and added the necessary bits to use the print as a tax invoice (ABN, 'Tax Invoice' and 'Total includes GST')
I will finalise it and send through to David
Question: where does an image need to reside in order to work?
dferguson

You will need to put the image somewhere on your hard drive and hard code the full path to the image in your invoice tempalte HTML code (unlike when your making a custom theme).
Example: If your image is in c:\blah\dave\blah\dave\daveslogo.jpg
The image tag would need to contain that WHOLE path.

Hi there,
Hi just thought i would share something to save someone the wasted time i have just gone throught because of a windows update that disables the view source in order to capture the code of this template correctly.
If you have IE7 and have all of our windows security updates installed AND you can no longer view source of a web page then save some time and remove he KB928090 Security Update.

David running version 4.00.068
Where can I find the default report, can't find it anywhere,
We want to keep using it with added fields for dispatch to use, ie freight company, tracking number etc.
thanks

The default order report is built in - You can get a copy of it in the forum on page one of this topic.
