View Full Version : Problem With Dymo Labelwriter

We recently got a Dymo LAbelwriter 330 Turbo ( their top of line model) to use with Ezimerchant.

The first label always prints well. The second label we try to print freezes half way through the label. The only way to get it to print without freezing is to disconnect and reconnect the labelwriter power supply after each label. HAs anyone else had this problem or use DYMO labelwriters?

I don't think it is a problem with Ezimerchant but as it is the recommended labelwriter for Ezimerchant I thought it was worth posting here. The DYMO technical help says to check the USB drivers etc, they are fine and work with every other device. The serial port does not detect the labelwriter and I don't have hours to spare to try and figure out why.

I would appreciate anyone else's input who has bought a DYMO label writer..did it work for you or am I wasting time trying to get it to work?

thanks

We use the Dymo Turbo 330 with 99% satisfaction, 'though with the usual 'teething' problems. We always print multiple labels via multile clicks, and it is imperative that you use genuine DYMO feedstock, whilst the Avery printer looks identical for some reason the DYMO doesn't like them. A pain as Officeworks sells the DYMO printer and Avery Labels.

I hope that this helps?

Hi

We use the DYMO in house to print labels for all the ezimerchant orders we recieve - It prints from ezimerchant perfectly.

One thing you must do however is update the dymo software to the latest version. (the software that shipped with our DYMO was not the latest)

From the HELP menu in the DYMO software choose the SOFTWARE UPDATES option to check for updates and update if necessary.

If you are already up-to-date then I would suggest testing the printing of labels with the DYMO software (make sure ezimerchant is closed!). If you still have the same issues then you will need to contact DYMO support and get it sorted.

Note: We have found that the dymo when left alone can sometimes go offline - The green light at the front of it turns red and it wont print anything from anywhere. When this occurs we simply unplug it from the USB port and plug it back in. We believe this to be caused by one of two things.

1. Dymo Printer Driver bug
2. USB issue with PC's BIOS.

It really doesnt affect us though because after unpluging and pluging back in, the dymo works fine again.

Note 2: You should only plug your dymo in via the USB cable. The serial port cable is for specialised non windows operation only.

I have had random freezing "half way" problems myself however they are few and far between. The interesting thing is if you don't do anything in about 2 minutes the rest of the print job still completes successfully.

Could be a dymo driver/pc config combination issue.

Thanks for your suggestions. In the end the Dymo Labelwriter gave up altogether, it just stopped. Dymo evenetually replaced it under warranty with the new version, Dymo LAbelwriter 400 and it works fine.

Now..do any of the fellow merchants sell the label paper at a good price :) - The webstores I have found are more expensive than officeworks. If anyone knows a good place to buy the labels let me know please as we go through quite a few. extralite@excite.com

Hi

Please email me the size code for the label you want and how many you would be prepaired to purchase at once and I will get some pricing for you. (david@ezimerchant.com)

I have a Dymo Label Writer Turbo 330. I have a problem in that the labels fade after a short while and I have to keep redoing them. Does anyone have a solution to this problem.

As they are thermal, they are light and heat sensitive.. Keep them out of the light and they will probably last longer. (they are really designed as delivery labels, which only need a limited life span)
