Is it possible to setup an Excel spreadsheet with all the categories and product fields and import this into Ezimerchant (we have 1500 products)

Yes. You can find the IMPORT option in the DATA LINKS menu.

where is this located? I can only find "DATA FEEDS" but no "DATA LINKS" - and even so, under this i cannot see anything about importing products.

Data Links is a menu option. (right at the top)

ok i figured that much out - then when i went to go and DO the import it tells me my excell file doesn't have tables?? its written normally in excel - with a column for each type of into (code, title, price, category etc) and only goes vertically down the page.
Any ideas??

Currently Office 2007 excel tables will not function. Save your table as a CSV file and import that.

thanks - figured it out. it doesn't import anything with a letter in the code - is there any way to make it accept these, as we have some products with the same number and just an additional letter on the end (ie: different colours of the same item etc..)???

i'm currently using v4.
it lets me add products with letters in the code - but not import. i checked the cells were not set to numerical or anything - thats fine its on the programs end that theres an error.

Make sure the FIRST product your importing has a product code that has letters in it.. (and for good measure make sure it starts with a letter)
I think you will find once you do this, the import will be OK
