I have recently begun using Google Ad Words and have generated a good increase in traffic to our site - oh, and some sales too...!
However, I am struggling to work out the best way of tracking the sales generated on the site. Obviously there are tools and guidance from Google, and as we are using PayPal as our sole means of payment, it should be simple enough.
Can anyone advise me on the best way of tracking the sales generated? Is it by linking to a certain page or notification that is generated when a sale is made?
Hope this makes sense!
Thanks,
Nick

This will allow you to track conversions from your Google Adwords system.

One more question...
Is it possible to do this tracking with Yahoo's scheme, as well as Google? I mean, have them both running at the same time?

Yahoo will need to supply you with the code and then you need to add the ezimerchant variables into it. If they have emailed you the code, email it to me and I will take a look.

Done! Though I think this only provides data from customers who link through from an adwords ad. What about customers who come from organic google search, another website, etc. Does that data feed in as well? How can we track that?

This tread is about the Google Adwords conversion tracking code - The whole idea of this code is to allow a merchant to measure Return On Investment when advertising on Google.
Example:
Money spent on ads VS money made in sales
Natural Search results dont have a cost, so tracking ROI is not required.
Google have another general tracking system, called analytics - which can provide stupidly indepth reports and general traffic tracking. This code is each to add to ezimerchant as well - simply copy the ANALYTIC TRACKING CODE into the banner section of ezimerchant Pro.

Yeah, I've got that too, but I can't make it track sales. I was just after something on analytics to show sales conversions there - by day, etc.
No dramas, i was just being hopeful.
Thanks Dave

Hi
Yeah, unfortunatly at the moment, its not possible to add the analytics code to the checkout pages... (the tracking code would need to go onto each stage of the checkout so that you can track how far they get etc)
We are looking into it.
