Hi,
Performing the following task:

1. Adding product to second category
2. Change price in original product & 2nd product copy information does not change.

Is the copied product meant to update, if changes are made to the original product code ?

Yes, this is exactly what should happen.. However You must make sure your assigning a product to a second category.
