(1) Gift Voucher redemption

(2) Promotional Codes: Being able to send out a marketing campain to a specific target group and offer them a unique promotion number, the enter it and receive the appropriate discount.

some scenarios....
PROMO1 codes gives those people a $10 redemption
PROMO2 gives them a free item
PROMO3 monthly member offer
PROMO4 they enter their code and get the item at 50% discount, but other people who see the products only see the normal $RRP.

This is an excellent idea.

As the GTS Server needs to know all the gift voucher codes ahead of time, I can see it working in a number of ways:

(1) A Merchant enters how many giftvouchers they want, and of what denomination ($20, $50). The ezimerchant GTS then sends the merchant a list of giftvoucher "codes". The merchant can get them printed / given to customers however they want.

Or

(1) A Merchant can order giftvouchers from ezimerchant. We could have vouchers printed up, with a good amount of spacing for a merchant logo. They could be printed on by the merchant with any laser or bubble jet printer.

Number (2) is a little more difficult, because you wont always want to give $$$ off. I don't think there would be anything extremely difficult in it, we'd just need to see exactly what types of promos merchants want to do. We would then need to make the changes to the client, which in turn requires an amount of testing.

I guess the big question with Number (2) is, do you want people to see the promotion "prize" they get on the merchant website, in the shopping cart, or only on the checkout server?

Hi there, I have recently started a new (second) business but have been using Ezimerchant for a couple of years with my first one. However, for the second business, I really need to be able to offer a gift voucher/promo code option - in the shopping cart I think would be appropriate. Can you please advise whether this is likely to happen soon, if so when? I really need it pretty urgently and would prefer to stick with Ezimerchant rather than having to source another cart that can provide this feature.

We to would like to offer a Gift Vouchers/Promotion codes along two lines:

1) We generate an online voucher in return for visitors sending us their e-mail information for future e-mails e.g. special deals/newsletters/promotions etc.
This would be very valuable if we start using "GetResponse" www.getresponse.com

2) A printed voucher we place in with orders prior to posting.
This may even include a "referral voucher/number" for them to pass onto friends(electronically or physically).
Keeps the ball rolling once they start shopping.

In 1) and 2), vouchers are redeemed with their next purchase e.g. they enter a code number in a box in the checkout pages and it deducts the voucher/amount from their total.

In 1) an expiry date and/or system where they only receive one voucher for using the GetResponse box may be needed so peope can't amass a large number of vocuhers.

We would need to track its effectiveness, which may require a box appearing on the printed order we receive saying "such and such voucher/type of voucher has been presented"

Otherwise, we just get an amended total sale price, requiring extra work to sort out which order used a voucher/type of voucher.
