I dont know about every one else. But It is hard to have an accurate freight charge as a base rate for international purchases. but to have a more extensive platform would be a huge benefit. currently I have to get international orders to email me for a rate and then have to add it manually this is a pain and I probably lose a few sales this way but i also dont want to be caught short by under pricing freight or by setting a charge internationally that would scare potential customers off as well.

It would be great if there was a category selection attached to the base rate freight charges to specify freight charges to different countries.

I am sure for interstate aswell would also benefit as I know it is heaps expensive to freight some of my products to places such as NT & W.A and it would be great if a specific charge for a state could be added.

For example

Local = $


Interstate = $ (could have option as flat rate or...)
sub: NSW = $
Sub: QLD = $
etc......

International = $ (flat rate or...)
Sub: NZ = $
Sub: Asia/pacific = $
sub: USA/Canada = $
Sub: Rest of the world = $

With The new Freight promotion setting. would also be great if there was a sub category also for the specific international sub locations.

Is their any reason you dont use the Australia Post DRC? It calculates freight accuratly to any destination.

We prefer to offer our customers a flat rate or freight free option and absorb some of the cost, our main carier is also fastway couriers as we specialiase in a lot of large boxed items that are to long for australia posts 105cm limit.

I thaught for convenience sake and looking at some of the other thaughts on postage rate comments that this might be a handy idea. for me atleast it would be more of a convenience so i can offer flat rate charges at my discression.

in addition to above i probably should have said we use fastway for australia wide and australia post for international... mabee you could provide an option to use multiple freight options (if it is not too technically difficult)

to explain my self better....

for example i could continue with my flat rate charges for australia wide is some one requested delivery to an australian address but if an international customer places an order to be deliverred internationally the program would automatically recognise this and switch to my preferred setting of the drc for international freight only.

Again not to sure if this is technically possible but would be handy.

Yeah, this level of config gets tricky! But we will try to add these features when we can
