View Full Version : Freight charged on Pick-up orders?

We've just started using EziMerchant to process 'phone and walk in orders (i.e. looked at EM from the customers side), mainly so we can capture their details and I've just noticed that the freight is added, before the customer has a chance of selecting the payment option / pick-up option. As this sends a Receipt Copy to the customer it conflicts with what we've actually charged them. Sure we can send a E-mail explaining it but it seems dumb to want to charge freight on a pick-up.

Looking at it closer, Pick Up, isn't a payment method it's an option that should be exercised earlier in the buying process.

Thoughts?

Hi Grahame

The pickup option was added as a special request for one client, and was added on the condition that freight was not going to be excluded. (adding a pick up payment method was easy - but making it subtract freight was not)

If you create a shipping discount at 100% then simply enter that code as you're going through the checkout to remove the freight?
It just occurred to me, worth a try perhaps?

This will work - (creating a 100% discount on freight with a promotion code of 'pickup') - however you may find crafty customers might use that promotion code when using other payment methods!

Sorry, I was under the impression that the merchant was entering all those details in to ezimerchant, so customers wouldn't know anything about that code.
