Ok I found all my pages in the ezimerchant folder in c drive etc... Build.....
but i uploaded the zipped folder of my site thats on my desktop in a folder (where its always backed up).
I would have thought that all the pages inc indexes and category etc etc pages would be in that folder?
What am I doing wrong please?
Or do I have to go into build...... and zip it and upload that then extract?
Cheers

Ok zipped the build folder in c drive and I have it working online but it is http://www.blahblahsite.com.au/Build11246/category25_1.htm

so it has Build11246 on all pages lol

BUT I just cant get my normal backup zipped folder to show any index pages (there are none) so i had to upload the build site.....??
Ideas why my normal desktop zipped file for my site wont work/no index or cat pages anywhere to be seen...)

P.S. I am using my ftp control panel to upload. there is no probs uploading the files, just dont know what ones and where to get them as theres no index or cat pages in the backup site etc, only in the c drive build number...

Hi discountpumps

I don't know if you have solved your index page problem.
Though, I thought you could try this....

When you first open Ezimerchant Pro and then you open your store, you then have the control panel open in front of you.

At the Left hand corner you will see Site Content and list below is Add New Pages to your Web Site and beneath that Manage Products and Categories.

Left click on Add New Pages to your Web Site. Find your page that you have for your index page and then click on it (it will then become highlighted).

Check the left hand column and see if you have a house icon in there, if you do not have the house icon in there, click on this area and then go to just below where it says, Create and edit web site pages and you will see the buttons just below there. Click on the house icon button and this then makes that particular page your home page (index page).......if its not that then I can not help.

Oh by the way, make sure you have the right hand side check boxes ticked for those pages that you want active and for which links to be displayed.

All the best with getting it up and running.

Hi Discount Pumps

You have got yourself into a confused tangle here!

For the record, this is a rundown of the various folders and what they really contain.

1. c:\program files\ezimercpro

This is this is the default ezimerchant install folder.

2. c:\program files\ezimercpro\websites

This is the folder thats most important.. it contains your website data in subfolders labeled:

online store 1 etc

These are the most important - They contain all the useful information about your site like products, categories, orders, settings etc.

3. c:\program files\ezimercpro\themes

This folder contains themes - either standard or customised themes.

4. c:\program files\ezimercpro\buildxxxxx

This folder contains all the HTML files, images and javascript that make up your web site. These files are what ezimerchant generates during the Site Generation. They are what gets uploaded to the web, they are NOT however what you need to backup. This folder should contain an index.html file.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now, if your build folder doesnt contain an index.html file then I can only suggest that for some reason ezimerchant is not generating it. If you have checked the stuff that ZingZangs suggested and it still doesnt work) then I would not reccommend doing anythign else other than calling us at this point because there really is not much you can do yourself to solve this issue.
