adding percentage to total of CC transaction

Does anyone know how to add a percentage to the total of a cc transaction, to cover the 2-3% that the merchant account facility charges for the priveledge of accepting credit card. We don't want to raise our product prices by 3%, we just want to able to add 3% to the total purchase price to cover those costs? Will Ezimerchant be adding this feature in version 4?

Also, is there a way to forbid email addresses such as yahoo, hotmail, msn etc? We get HEAPS of orders that are made using these addresses that are not real orders. Also, I don't like the fact that you can go thru the purchase process (ie: customer details) and fill almost every line with XXXXXX's and the order goes thru. (bar the phone, email area's) Surely in the new version that will be prohibited. The address/email/phone/post codes must be legit.

But my biggest problem at the moment is getting the 3% added to the total of cc transactions.


Any ideas from anyone?

Pre Jan1 this year it was against Visa and Mastercard processing regulations to charge a surcharge on credit card purchases.

ezimerchant Pro therefore does not have this feature.

We never concidered adding it either because customers who purchase expect to pay by credit card - and dont want to be slugged for it.

I understand your companies position however and it would be a good idea. The current checkout in ezimerchant pro cannot do it however.

It is on our wish list of features and if possible we will add it to future versions should the demand warrant it.
